Types of numbers

There are many types of numbers which are given below.

  • Whole numbers
  • Natural numbers
  • Even numbers
  • Odd numbers
  • Prime numbers
  • Composite numbers
  • Rational numbers
  • Irrational numbers
  • Real numbers
  • Complex numbers
  • Integers

Whole numbers

Whole numbers are those positive numbers which are started from zero.they are only positive numbers .the set of these numbers are represented by W.

Natural numbers

Natural numbers are those numbers which are started from 1. and these are only positive numbers .the set of those numbers are represented by N.

Even numbers

Even numbers are those numbers which can be completely divided by 2.the set of these numbers are represented by E.

Odd numbers

Odd numbers are those numbers which cannot by properly divided by 2 .the set of those numbers are represented by O.

Prime  numbers

Prime numbers are those numbers which have only 2 factors.one is itself and anther is 1.the set of these numbers are represented by P.

composite numbers

Composite numbers are those numbers which have more then 2 factors .the set of these numbers are represented by C.

Integers

Those  positive and negative  numbers which are started from zero .these are both positive and negative numbers.the set of these numbers are represented by Z.

Rational numbers

Those numbers which can be written in the form of p/q .where as p,q belongs to the set of integers and q not equal to zero.the set of these numbers are represented by Q.

Irrational numbers

Irrational numbers are those numbers which cannot be written in the form of p/q .where p,q not belongs to the set of integers.the set of these numbers are represented by Q'.

Real numbers

Real numbers are those numbers which have both the qualities of rational and irrational numbers.the set if those numbers are represented by R.

Complex numbers

The numbers which is the combination of real number and the imaginary unit is known as complex numbers .
